Smile VX9800 vs. i860 || Verizon vs. Nextel

So I'm thinking of trying a 1 year contract w/ Verizon and getting an LG VX9800. I'm not paying the price for it out of the store and have not seen but one on eBay. Have any of you guys owned one or seen them for sale? What are your impressions?

I'm also thinking of going with a 1 yr. contract w/ Nextel and an i860 because of the free incoming calls they offer and the fact that I'm planning on selling stuff online. Hmmm. Which would you choose?

I plan on using whatever phone I buy as a primary source of communication but I don't want to pay huge overages everytime I turn on the phone. I know Verizon has a huge network and in a time of Disaster, Nextel's walkie talkie feature will work even when you cannot call out or recieve calls. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you have alot of friends with Nextel then I would definately go with nextel. I used to have verizon but then I went to Nextel cause of the free incoming calls. If you are a person who likes to text message and you don't have friends with nextel then verizon would be your best bet cause it takes forever for a person with nextel to get or recieve a text from anyone else unless they have nextel.

yea the free incomin calls is great. I would use like 1100 minutes with verizon and now I use less than 300 a month with nextel. Also my nights start at 6 p.m.

um, idk about that, my dad has one for his business. i work with him over the summer and if you do not have a phone signal you cannot use the "walkie talkie" (direct connect).

as for the VX9800, i was at towncenter mall tonight and i looked at it, its an awesome phone and since i have been a customer for so long i can buy it for 100 bucks, so thats what im gonna do.

Well I just went with nextel and have not got my bill but if you go to their website you can make your own plan and it will tell you how much it will be. I was goin to get 300 minutes, free incoming, unlimited walkie talkie, unlimited text, nights start at 6 p.m., insurance, and somethin else all for like 85 dollars a month but I ended up not gettin text and insurance I don't think so mine should be around 70 dollars if I didn't download so many ringtones. I now have 18 ring tones.

haha thats awesome, with the VX9800 you can put mp3's on it, and i think you make them into your ringtones. so that would be pretty nice.

See I don't want to pay anything over $60 for a phone bill so I am thinking Verizon right about now.

Hey impossible do you think you could hook me up with a VX9800 for $100?
